Vietnam pledges to crackdown dodging trade tariffs

Vietnam vowed to crack down on businesses that relabel Chinese products as Vietnamese in order to prevent US tariffs, underlining the increasing position of the South East Asian country as a regional export hub in the intensifying US-Chinese trade war.

Vietnam’s customs department said it had ordered provincial and municipal customs departments to step up their inspection and verification of origin certificates to eradicate fraudulent certificates.
