Exploring the New Model of “Industry-Education Integration”! Launch of the 2023 Guizhou Vocational Education Youth Cross-border New Media Competition.

On December 17, 2023, the Guizhou Vocational Education Youth Cross-border New Media Competition and the “Integration of Industry and Education” series of activities in the Vocational Education City were launched at the Guanshanhu Tianlai Guizhou. The event was organized by the Qizhen Vocational Education City Management Committee, Guizhou Food Engineering Vocational College, and Guizhou Talent Training Center. The Integration of Industry and Education Office of Guizhou Food Engineering Vocational College and the Finance and Business Department of Guizhou Food Engineering Vocational College were responsible for organizing the event. Several vocational colleges in Guizhou, including Guizhou Equipment Manufacturing Vocational College, Guizhou Communication Vocational and Technical College, and Guizhou Construction Vocational and Technical College, participated in the event.

According to the information, the purpose of this competition is to promote the development of vocational education in Guizhou, encourage the growth and innovation of young students in the field of new media, and provide them with a platform for display and communication. As the organizer of this competition, Guizhou Food Engineering Vocational College focuses on the “Four New” main attack, the “Four Modernizations” main strategy, and the “Four Zones and One Highland” main positioning. They adhere to the concepts of “Three Services,” “Four Close Connections,” and “Six-party Integration,” serve the ecological characteristic food industry in Guizhou, and help consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.

In his speech, Rang Longchuan, a member of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of Guizhou Food Engineering Vocational College, stated that in recent years, the college has been continuously exploring new models of industry-education integration. By constructing an industry-education integration “interchange bridge” and deepening the “government + school + enterprise + cooperative (or farmers) + finance + market” six-party integration, they provide services to the deep processing of ecological characteristic food products in Guizhou’s “one county, one industry” initiative. They cultivate the “dual subject” of industry-education integration and continuously improve the “Seven-in-One” Chinese characteristic modern apprenticeship system. They create an incubator for industry-education integration, establish and strengthen 15 industrial colleges such as the Rural Revitalization E-commerce Industrial College, Qiancai College, and Ayoudou Art College, and focus on talent training, scientific research, and industry incubation. They aim to solve the problems of student internships, practical training, and employment, and cultivate high-quality skilled personnel that meet the needs of enterprises or industries, providing strong impetus for the high-quality development of the college. “In this competition, we will build a platform for international new media exchange among college students, promote intellectual collisions and wisdom sharing. Actively using new media methods to promote traditional Chinese culture, tell good Chinese stories, spread the voice of China, strengthen cultural exchanges, and promote mutual learning in civilization,” said Rang Longchuan.

Gu Haiying, the dean of the E-commerce Industrial College of Guizhou Food Engineering Vocational College, announced the competition schedule and format. The competition consists of preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds, starting from November 15, 2023, and lasting until May 10, 2024. The participants are current students of the Qizhen Vocational Education City in Guizhou Province (aged 18 and above). After the registration and preliminary rounds, the offline finals will consist of live demonstrations, project exhibitions, and defense sessions.

The competition is divided into three categories: TIKTOK cross-border e-commerce, Douyin e-commerce/WeChat mini-program (shared supply chain), and Douyin local life. Participants can choose two categories based on their conditions, resources, and abilities. The competition will be conducted through original short videos, live broadcasts, and other forms on designated platforms such as Douyin e-commerce, TIKTOK, and WeChat mini-programs. Participants will utilize short videos, live broadcasts, community building, and other methods to integrate marketing across platforms, with total scores calculated accordingly. Based on the scoring results, first, second, and third prizes, as well as several outstanding awards, will be awarded. All award-winning works will have the opportunity for professional promotion and publicity.

It is worth mentioning that after the competition, the organizers will assist students who enter the finals in connecting with companies, and outstanding talents will have the opportunity to sign contracts with enterprises, brand owners, and on-site bases, creating a new channel for the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation.
